This article presents information on the book "Modern Mexico," written by R.J. MacHugh. After accompanying the Servian army in the Balkan War, MacHugh was sent by the journal "Daily Telegraph," to investigate Mexico. He has performed his task well, and his methodical handling of materials shows that, however brief his visit, judicious use of the best authorities available and the serious efforts of a trained and balanced writer have produced one of the most satisfactory of recent books on this subject.
