The scene of political activity in Austria-Hungary has been shifted from Vienna to Budapest, the Hungarian capital, where the meetings of the Austrian and of the Hungarian delegations have been taking place. The most anxious question disturbing the tranquility of the country is that of its relations with Soviet Union. It has long been known that they are merely "correct." Other utterances made by men with no authorization excepting their mandates as delegates plainly showed where the trouble between the two countries lies. The resentment felt in Austria-Hungary at the propaganda carried on so incessantly by Russia on the frontier, among the Ruthenes and the Little Russians, who are Austro-Hungarian subjects, was plainly expressed, and the politicians on the Nova were given to understand that Austria-Hungary was well aware of the machination of Russian political agents all along her frontier, whether as religious enthusiasts anxious to obtain converts for political purposes, or as spies.
