Is War Ever Justified?

The article presents a list of books related to war. Some of them are: "Evolution and the War," by P. Chalmers Mitchell, "The World Crisis and Its Meaning," by Felix Adler, "The International Crisis in Its Ethical and Psychological Aspects," "The Soul of Germany," by Thomas F.A. Smith, "The War and After," by Oliver Ledge and "The War and Its Issues," by John Oman. The first books on the war, written at the beginning of the great struggle, concerned themselves almost exclusively with its immediate causes and with the question where the direct responsibility for it lay. People were all so dazed by the suddenness of the catastrophe that most of them could only ask whom to blame, and those who found it possible to write were too busy answering our questions to have any leisure for philosophic reflection upon the broader aspects of the problem.
