The following comment from the Japanese press on Japan's policy in Siberia, from an article in the "Dalnevostochnoye Obozrenyie" of October 4, 1919 is interesting in view of the reports of negotiations between the U.S. and Japan concerning the situation in Siberia. On the question of Japan's Siberian policy the Japanese press and public are divided on that phase which relates to the maintenance of Japanese expeditionary forces in Siberia and the demands for reinforcements. One section of the press urges the necessity of a definite and positive political policy toward Siberia, while another is in favor of a negative political attitude.
