Chinese students have recently organized and carried to a successful conclusion a series of popular demonstrations against the Shantung settlement, which have resulted in the removal of three high Government officials accused of having betrayed their country into the hands of Japan. An article, published in the June 10, 1919 issue of the journal "The China Press," embodying the students' point of view is presented. According to the article, for the first time in the history of China, a genuine democratic movement has appeared.
