The article discusses several books on China. The books presented are "The International Relations of the Chinese Empire," by Hosea Ballou Morse, volume 2 "The Period of Submission, 1861-1873," volume 3 "The Period of Subjection, 1861-1908," "The Legal Obligations Arising Out of Treaty Relations Between China and Other States," by M.T.Z. Tyau, "China's New Constitution and International Problems," by M.T.Z. Tyau, "Foreign Financial Control in China," by T.W. Overlach. The books focus on the three phases that mark the past hundred years of China's intercourse with Christendom.
