The article presents information about the meeting of the American Historical Association at Cincinnati, Ohio during December 27-30, 1917. The array of papers and conferences offered at the Cincinnati meeting was exceptionally rich and varied. Professor Albert T. Olmstead, of the University of Missouri, in a paper before the ancient history section on Mesopotamian politics and scholarship, called attention to the success of French and German archaeological investigators, backed by their respective governments, in appropriating the Mesopotamian field, while reprobating the German policy of removing to Berlin many important finds. In addition to sessions for the presentation of formal papers, provision was made, as in former years, for a number of conferences for the discussion of special historical activities.
