The article presents information about several novels. The novel "Windy McPherson's Son," by Sherwood Anderson is a "large canvas" novel, dealing with the greater part of a man's life, and with several groups of characters. The theme of the story is a man's search for the permanent satisfactions of life. The novel "The Tutor's Story," by Charles Kingsley and revised and completed by his daughter, Lucas Malet is a well-wrought plot, with its villain and its adventuress, its tangle of intrigue and of loves sacred and profane.
