This article presents information on various books. "The Fifth Child," by Klaus Mann, is a strange fantasy, never entirely clear, by the youthful son of Thomas Mann and the present literary leader of the German younger generation. The book "The Third Book of Modern Verse," edited by Jessie B. Rittenhouse. Rittenhouse's two previous anthologies in this series have become justly famous. They had character even while they were catholic. The present volume, bringing the picture up to date, will be quite as valuable as its predecessors. The book "The Days of the King," is written by Bruno Frank. Frank is one of the leading figures of the middle generation in Germany.
