This article presents information on the centralization of power control. The table for the Committee on Coal and Power, prepared by H.S. Raushenbush, a scholar, shows that seventeen holding companies control 85 percent of the nation's power. The first two combinations, which together control 34 percent of national production, work in such close cooperation that they could be classed as one. Some of the companies are: United and affiliates; Electric Bond and Share; Stone and Webster; Duke Power; and Detroit Edison.
