The article focuses on the book "The Life of Francis Place" by the author Graham Wallas. "The Life of Francis Place" virtually started the study of the enormous mass of material still extant concerning the political and economic history of England in the first three decades of the last century. The book was originally published more than twenty years ago, and it has proved to be the precursor of such monuments of research. Anyone who will take the trouble to study the history of England in the years immediately following the Battle of Waterloo will inevitably be struck with the quite ludicrous parallels between that period and the present phase of American history.
