The article discusses the book "A Constitutional History of England," by George Burton Adams. Among the scholars whose work has effected a profound change in the conceptions of English constitutional history during the Middle Ages, Professor Adams holds a prominent place. The supreme value of the book is that it gives a coherent account in language that will be readily understood of the slow but continuous evolution of the idea and the machinery of the limited monarchy, linking each step with the steps before and after.
