The article discusses the present situation in the U.S. and the healthy mindedness of the Americans. There may be a cancerous group of long faces, Carl Sandburg, Edgar Lee Masters, Waldo Frank, Van Wyck Brooks, Eugene O'Neill, trying to cast a spell of gloom and self-analysis over the Americans. There may be a set of propaganda-depressed weeklies trying to hypnotize the Americans into doubt of their politicians and their prosperity. But the great heart of the U.S. beats too soundly for these Svengalis. The movies, even more than the stage of the national soul, are safe in the hands of 100 percent optimistic producers.
