The article presents information about the book titled, Lyric Pioneers of Modern Germany, written by Solomon Liptzin. One of the most interesting developments in criticism devoted to revealing the effects of social change upon literary trends is to be found in this volume by Solomon Liptzin. Liptzin, in this book, shows the interconnection between the whole movement of German life of the last century and its literature. Beginning his study with the observation that literature is a seismograph of life, the author proceeds to trace the evolution of literary forms as expressions of life realities.
