The Russian-Polish Treaty

This article presents information on the treaty signed between Soviet Union, Ukraine and Poland on 18 March, 1921 at Riga. The treaty was ratified by the Soviet government on March 22, and by the Polish Diet on April 15. Article V of the above mentioned treaty states that both contracting parties guarantee to each other complete respect of state sovereignty and abstinence from any interference whatever in the interior affairs of the other party, especially from agitation, propaganda, and all kinds of intervention, or from supporting the same. Both contracting parties undertake the obligation not to create and not to support organizations having for aim armed combat with the other contracting party, either attacking its territorial integrity or preparing the overthrow of its state or social structure by violence-- as well as organizations assuming the role of government of the other party or of a part of its territory.
