The National Student Forum, in its effort to promote friendship and understanding between European and American students, arranged a tour of the colleges by a select group of students. They came to the university to tell of the spiritual ideals of the youth of Europe. On this incident Ralph M. Easley, secretary of the Civic foundation, issued an encyclical. He waxed eloquent over the youth movement of Europe. He saw them leading in a concerted protest against war. Students were summoned into executive session. Faculty and students were represented. It was made perfectly clear that the university would allow no foreigner to come over and tell native Americans how to run the country.
