The article focuses on the books, "Conversations in Ebury Street," and "Pure Poetry. An Anthology," by George Moore, "Wrap Me Up in My Aubusson Carpet," by John Middleton Murry. The threads which bind the miscellaneous topics together are Mr. Moore's personality and his point of view. He is somewhat too willing to admit that his book was prompted by the need to make a volume to take the place of the suppressed "Impressions and Opinions" in the collected edition of his works. The book lacks any such dominant motif as that which runs so sinuously through his earlier volume of conversations, the famous "Avowals."
