The article discusses about those hospital authorities who do not bother seriously about the financial status of their applicants. They seek to impress their donors with the tremendous volume of work accomplished in their institutions. Patients follow the human instinct of getting something for nothing and the doctors fall over one another in the scramble for hospital and dispensary appointments. According to the author, hospitals and dispensaries must be redeemed from the thraldom of charity and placed on the same basis as public schools, high schools, and State-controlled universities.
