In this article, the author focuses on the book "Through the Russian Revolution," by Albert Rhys Williams. During those weeks following the armistice when mobs rioted in New York City at doors of every meeting suspected of bolshevik sympathies, Williams, just returned from his year in the Soviet Union, addressed a decorous middle-class pacifist gathering. Red neckties and crimson carnations, timid badges of revolutionary sympathy, were surreptitiously stuffed into pockets. And to the accompaniment of the crashing symphony of patriotism Williams told his story of the mass uprisings of the Soviet Revolution.
