In this article, the author focuses on the book "The Tragic Sense of Life in Men and in Peoples," by Miguel de Unamuno and translated by J.E. Crawford. One need not be interested in immortality to appreciate this book, but one should be interested in windmills, one should be able to like a losing fight. Unamuno fights because he knows there is not a chance in the world to win. He has tasted the glory of absurdity. He has decided to hope what he cannot believe. He has discovered grounds for faith in the very fact that there are no grounds.
