The article presents the author's experience of traveling from Berlin to Dresden, Germany. He traveled opposite a young man in simple blue clothes without a single outward mark of distinction. He wore neither the frock-coat of statesmanship nor the high hat of the cabinet minister. He did have an attendant who once covered his knees with a rug and reminded the author's vis-a-vis that the time had come for him to eat his sandwich, which the Minister - President most obediently proceeded to do. If one had examined him closely, as the author did, one would have seen a man who looked like a very earnest young U.S. lawyer.
