The psychology of superiority and particularly of the superiority of the white race that comes from Northern Europe is rampant in the U.S. today is obvious to the most casual observer. A part of the theories which are accepted as almost axiomatic by those who urge the superiority of the North European type the "Teutonic race," as it was called in pre-war times, more widely known today as the "Nordic" is based on a lack of understanding of the criteria which determine race, and a false correlation between physical form and cultural achievement. of the material used." The invidious comparison, between races as between individuals, is always odious, and it is to be hoped that the present craze for the Nordic myth will go the way of all crazes. The problem of who is to settle in this country is a real one, the need is to put it on the economic and social basis where it belongs, and to leave out of it vague hypotheses concerning racial intelligence.
