The article presents news related to political issues. The conviction of Colonel Charles R. Forbes, formerly head of the U.S. Veterans' Bureau, for conspiracy to defraud the government while in that office is said to have come as a surprise to those who had been present at the trial in Chicago. If so, it must have been because the government failed to make as convincing a case as had been hoped on the basis of the particular act chosen for its prosecution. A group of Chinese students at Yale-in-China have refused to study the Bible. In China a demand for freedom in the matter of religious instruction is regarded as a sign of bolshevism.
