The article provides information about several books. "The Mission of Greece," by R.W. Livingstone is meaty, reliable and entertaining. The book is a collection from the great Graeco-Roman writers of the post-classical period and is third in series of the same author's "The Legacy of Greece" and "The Pageant of Greece." The explanatory passages present a world strikingly similar to that of the U.S., and Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus, Plutarch at least offer and Lucian answers to questions which are being asked today. Marcel Schwob's writing in "The Book of Menelle" is too subtle and too sophisticated to be generally popular.
