The article presents some political updates. It says that the candidacy of Field Marshall Paul von Hindenburg for the presidency of Germany is serious. Republics everywhere have a habit of honoring military heroes with public office and much of the war glamour hangs about Hindenburg. Moreover, he enjoys the affection of multitudes of ex-soldiers because he was one of the most humane of the German generals, one of the few who ever considered the human element in making military moves. Because of his personal uprightness and dignity he is popular with many German women. Hence his candidacy is formidable.
