In this article, the author presents an account of his journey in South America. In Buenes Aires, before the office of one of the leading newspapers, stood a mass of men whom we knew were reading the news association flash. They were marching because it was the only way they had of venting their hatred against the U.S. From Sao Paulo, the author took the train for the interior of Brazil, bound south for the Argentine. The route lay through Paraná, the state of the great pine forests, then on to Rio Grande do Sul, the cattle country of Brazil. The country is so primitive that the train stops whenever flagged in order that the inhabitants may come aboard to buy fruits and liquors and deliver and collect mail.
