The article presents some socio-political updates. It says that if the U.S. Congress wishes to decree the death penalty for all persons drinking liquids containing more than one-half of one per cent of alcohol it has the constitutional power to do so. It has not so voted, but the death penalty is being imposed. Not universally, but sufficiently to explain a large part of the hundreds of deaths from Christmas and New Year's drinking in the U.S. Another update says that the U.S. Court of Appeals in San Francisco recently handed down its verdict in favor of S.G. Pandit, a naturalized Hindu, whose papers the U.S. State Department attempted to revoke.
