The article focuses on the book "Woman in Flight" by the author Fritz Reck-Malleczewen and translated by the writer Jennie Covan. Aside from some sentimentalities, however, and the incredibleness of some of the South American scenes, the book is written surprisingly well. The author is obsessed with the dirt, the drabness, the madness of post-war and especially German capitalist civilization, and his conveyance of this feeling is the most interesting achievement of the book. The translation is apparently very good, and well adapted to the material.
