The article discusses the book "Dark Summer," by Louise Bogan. A spiritual pride and a heart wiser than its desires were there written down in flawless perfection of language. No other poet in the U.S. has a more inevitable sense of the exact word to be employed than has Bogan. In the book, the same immaculate spirit and restless heart continue their discourse in language, which shows no flagging of the poet's critical employment of her tool. The tool is the same and the creator the same; only the season has changed.
