In an address before the English-Speaking Union in London, England, the other day Dean William Ralph Inge of St. Paul's Cathedral made the prediction that 200 years hence the U.S. would be in no sense an Anglo-Saxon country. The old stock was dying out, he said, not only relatively but absolutely, in spite of immigration laws designed to preserve it. A quarter of a century ago Charles E. Woodruff, then a major in the medical corps of the U.S. army, also predicted the disappearance in the U.S. not only of the Anglo-Saxons but of the entire North European stock, an elimination of the blond, blue-eyed, fair-haired type.
