This article presents information on several books. Some of the books which are being discussed in this article are: "The Last Home of Mystery," by E. Alexander Powell; "The Outpost of the Lost: An Arctic Adventure," by David Brainard; "The Land of Gods and Earthquakes," by Douglas Haring and "Bushwhacking, and Other Asiatic Tales and Memories," by Hugh Clifford. It is opined that Mr. Powell is an experienced voyager and an entertaining writer. His later travel books are much superior to those he was turning out at the end of the war. There are, indeed, few Americans who know their way about the world better than he.
