Parents are found to be wise if they speak severely to any child who picks up chalk or pencil and begins to draw figures on the wall or any other convenient place. That youngster is headed right toward the most precarious of all the callings. In all human endeavor there is room at the top, but the more kindly arts provide landing stages at various points on the mountain side. The pretty good writer need not starve to death and may heaven be blessed for this mercy.
