This article focuses on the theatrical production "The Grand Street Follies." The author says that the spectators who attend the annual production of "The Grand Street Follies" deserve some of the credit for the success of that institution in maintaining the insouciance of its amateur standing. No audience gathers in a mood more pleasantly anticipatory and none more ready to dismiss with a tolerant shrug the defects of an entertainment which has never pretended to be quite professional. The edition for 1929 is scarcely more finished than that for 1922 and it occasionally crosses over to the wrong side of the mysterious line which separates the careless spontaneity of the best burlesque from the embarrassing antics of tile funny man who half realizes that he is only making a fool of himself.
