The article focuses on various books. "The Tragic Empress," by Maurice Paleologue is a series of fairly animated and illuminating dialogues on the period covering the Second Empire. In "Wage Arbitration," by George Soule, the author describes that practice by taking case material from arbitration hearings in the railroad, printing, packing, and clothing industries from 1920 to 1924. "The Great Galilean," by Robert Keable may stimulate a little thought in the minds of people who have never understood quite how devastating the conclusions of the scholars really are.
