The article focuses on the book "Germany Under the Dawes Plan: Origin, Legal Foundations, and Economic Effects of the Reparation Payments," by Max Sering, and translated by S. Milton Hart. Whatever will be the outcome of the 1929 Reparation Conference in Paris, this book of the well-known German agricultural economist will prove to be of lasting interest. Sering's analysis of Germany's economic situation is excellent. It is to be regretted that he did not confine himself to this analysis. His discussion of Germany's political relations with her former enemies lacks objectivity.
