The article discusses about the book "Mr. Pope and Other Poems," by Allen Tate. Mr Allen Tate is the third considerable poet the new and insurgent South has so far given us; yet if we compare his work with that of Mr. Ransom and Mr. Davidson, who are his contemporaries in date and spirit, there are apparent as many dissimilarities as correspondences. There is also the question of poetical influences to be considered in the case of so young a man as Mr. Tate. The demagogic chaos of our day tortures him, yet he finds no avenue of escape from it.
