The article focuses on the film "A Fragment of an Empire." It deals with the interesting if not quite original theme of a man who suddenly finds himself in a new world, unaware of the changes which took place while he was suffering from the effects of amnesia. It also employs some very striking images to describe the man's experiences and reactions. Moreover which is rare the acting in it is reserved and sensitive. With all this excellent material "A Fragment of an Empire" might have been a great picture. It actually falls short of this by a very considerable margin.
