This article presents information related to socio-politics. The Haitian Commission appointed by U.S. President Herbert Hoover has at least two excellent members: William Allen White and James Kerney. It is confidently believed that they will undertake their important mission with open minds and a determination to find a way for the U.S. to withdraw from the island at the earliest possible moment. Of the other appointees, W. Cameron Forbes, the chairman, is of the utterly conservative, Leonard Wood school of imperialism. It is only fair to say that his administration of the Philippines was well above the average, but it was not marked by any zeal to fit the Filipinos for early independence.
