This article focuses on music recordings that are being sold in the U.S. For sheer gorgeousness of sound there is nothing like Frederick Delius's music. One may enjoy an occasional hearing of his single work like "Brigg Fair," which is the highly vertebrate form of theme and variations. The Lener Quartet set of Ludwig van Beethoven's Opus 18, No. 4 by Columbia is in all ways good. There is a way of avoiding the fuzzy reproduction one gets from new Columbia records while the steel needles are scrapping away the loose film left by the withdrawal of the stamper. This difficulty disappears when curved-arm pick-ups are used.
