The article presents information on the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The charter establishing the FAO was signed at Quebec in October, 1945, a few months after the end of World War II, the organization had a membership of forty-four countries. But the present membership of the FAO is of more than hundred and ten countries, the great majority of which are underdeveloped. FAQ could be viewed in 1945 as an organization for gathering statistics about crops, trade and related matters and for technical consultation.
