The article presents information on the DRIVE (Democrat Republican Independent Voter Education), the answer of the Teamsters' union to the anti-labor Congress. Since union meetings are not generally well attended DRIVE goes directly to the people oh the job. The selling approach is simple and direct. The solicitors review the benefits the men derive from their union and then explain that Congress can sweep these benefits away at any time, This past summer Congressional efforts to quash the airline strike provided a particularly vivid illustration of the threat posed by an anti-labor Congress. DRIVE members will receive a copy of the DRIVE Reporter, a magazine designed to tell them who their friends really are in Congress, it explains the effect that pending legislation may have on their jobs and families and keep them apprised of what DRIVE people in Washington are doing to safeguard their interests.
