This article presents information on the play "If This Be Treason," written by John Haynes Holmes and Reginald Lawrence. The author is full of admiration for the excellence of the acting and the courage of the play and of calling attention to its extraordinary timeliness. The central thesis of the play is that the conferences between concerned heads of nations to make peace should be held before hostilities begin instead of afterward, when the multitudes have been slain, robbed of their lives, tortured to their last hours, without ever having been asked whether they were willing to make the sacrifice.
