The article presents information on the book "Process and Reality," by Alfred North Whitehead. In contrast to this attitude of scientific skepticism Whitehead has undertaken the more difficult and constructive task of determining the place of science and scientific laws in the structure of reality. His work, whether it be regarded as completely successful or not, will certainly stand out as a masterful piece of philosophizing. Even if it does nothing else than revive the rationalist's faith in a wholehearted philosophy of the universe, it will have achieved its aim and earned the gratitude of the friends of thought.
