This article presents information related to several books. The book "Up at the Villa," by Marie Cher unfolds as the putative diary of a solitary woman living above the modern city of Rome, Italy. The book "Dido: Queen of Hearts," by Gertrude Atherton is the third novel of the author Atherton's which concerns itself with the ancient world.
