The article focuses on the economic burden of armaments and the actual naval equipment of each of the country represented at the assembling of the London Conference in London, England. The expenditure figures presented in the article are taken from the valuable Armaments Supplement published by the Economists in its issue of October 19, 1929. It was prepared by Mr. P. Jacobsen, Secretary General to the Defense Council of Sweden, and the figures in all cases were drawn from official sources. The naval data, taken from the World Almanac for 1930, were compiled by the Department of the Navy of the U.S. as of July 29, 1929.
