In this article, the author focuses on the book "The Dissenting Opinions of Mr. Justice Holmes," by Alfred Leif. This book is a unique tribute of a kind that has never been paid, as far as the author knows, to any judge of the United States. In one volume there have been collected here the dissenting opinions of the Justice Holmes, with enough of his majority opinions to make clear his position. The value of such a compilation should lie far beyond considerations of convenience. The reader will find here, however, touches of the twentieth century to disturb the analogy.
