The article presents information about two books. "Meet the Germans," by Henry Albert Phillips; "The New German Republic," by Elmer Luehr. The general scope and purport of the book by Phillips may best be characterized by saying that the book is a observations of a tourist. Readers are asked at the outset to be tolerant and try to ignore errors of his "facts" because he is not interested in facts as such, he merely wants a few representative impressions from which one may form some idea of what the whole of Germany is like.
