The article presents information on railroads and railroad stations in the U.S. Excursion rates for holidays and railroad consolidations, have caused to reflect once more upon the desolation of railroad stations. It is true that, in the U.S., railroad stations seem to have been built by the most unpleasant, if not the worst, architects available. Grand Central Terminal, in New York, is the nearest approach to it, but Grand Central has what most stations lack. Pennsylvania Station, on the other hand, is the first and last railway station.
