Unemployment in England

A labor government is expected to improve the conditions of the laboring classes. So far the successes of British statesman Ramsay MacDonald's government have been in other fields, especially in foreign policy, which though making perhaps valuable indirect contributions to economic resources in improved foreign trade and reduced costs of armaments, have brought no present relief to industrial distresses. Though some slight improvement is visible in iron and steel trade, export trades in general still remain in the trough of the deepest and most prolonged depression recorded in the history.
