A Conscientious Objector

The article discusses books and authors. "Hey Yellowbacks!" by writer Ernest Meyer, is a well worth-while little book, the unvarnished, simple tale of what an American youth had to endure in 1917-18 because he took literally the commandment "Thou shalt not kill." The conscientious objectors were the real moral heroes of the war. They were literally tested by fire. Meyer's volume is an excellent companion piece to writer Norman Thomas's "The Conscientious Objector in America."
